Sure enough, one of the blogs I manage got exactly that but the comment spam never went public. I knew right away that Rick was highly unlikely to be the real spammer and we have had a good conversation about it. These spammers have reached a particularly low level of low, and all because they didn't like being exposed. Their response reveals that any doubt about how slimy they really are is understated. This proves they are even worse than originally anticipated.

Let the buyers of link building services beware!

Why would you buy a wifi enabled grip and then plug a eye-fi card into it?
The grip you bought will do everything the eye-fi card will do and more!

I have the rss plate as well as the grip that screws in and the L accessory. I can do without the L accessory but the grip is quite nice. Do you think the grip would fit as well?

I used the combination several times successfully to prove it can be done. I needed to, to satisfy my curiosity since I enjoy using Eye-Fi cards. That said, while it works I can't recommend the contraption since it is very delicate and prone to getting unplugged.

Going forward, the most satisfying result using Eye-Fi cards is with a "connected" camera like the new Canon G1X which has built-in controls for the card and an indicator to let you know images are actively uploading. I have a Fuji X100 and while the image quality is stunning, it is a hassle to keep waking the camera from sleep mode to continue uploading. The alternative is to keep the camera from going into sleep mode at all.

awesome... do you have any follow up for this? I am very interested in trying this as well. the photos just automatically go from the 7D -> WFT-E5 -> USB extension -> Eye-fi card reader -> eye-fi card ? it seems odd that they would just end up there.

Yup, the lens cap does impede the flash but I use it infrequently enough that it isn't an issue. Removing it only takes a second and since there is a UV filter on the lens it remains pretty well protected.
